Vacation Benefit for Internship Employment
We hire interns and co-ops (as do most of you I'm sure), and from time to time those interns and co-ops are hired full time. We have had a recent request to allow individuals internship time to count toward their vacation benefit when they become full time. Example, intern works for a year or two and gets hired on full time, they are asking to start at the 2 year vacation time benefit mark. Our current policy is to start benefits effective with the full time date.
I am curious if others allow benefits to start with any time other than full time?
