Professional Development Assistant (part-time)

Bricker is currently searching for a Professional Development Assistant to join our team.  This is a part-time position working between 20 to 25 hours per week, however, flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods is required.  The daily work hours are flexible, as long as they occur between our normal business hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm. 

This position will support the entirety of the firm’s legal recruiting efforts, including pipeline, entry-level, lateral Associate and lateral Partner hiring.  This role will also support the professional development initiatives for Non-Partners, which include onboarding, training, mentoring and diversity & inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Non-Partner training programs by setting up, tracking attendance and coordinating facility and technical resources

  • Assist with all attorney onboarding duties, such as, creating and coordinating schedules, compiling orientation materials and managing checklists

  • Provide support to Professional Development Coordinator

  • Maintain the firm’s recruiting database, including creation of new candidate profiles, interview schedules, updates to correspondence and contact lists, Interaction and maintaining all candidate documents

  • Assist with firm recruiting events, including tracking RSVPs and creating name badges

  • Assist as needed with data compilation and preparation of various surveys

  • Assist at firm events, including helping with the name badge/check-in tables

  • Assist with law student outreach efforts

  • Assist in updating the firm website with job postings, photos, and testimonials

  • Assist with the Summer Associate Program (May – August) by doing the following:

    • Prepare and compile all orientation materials and handbooks

    • Design and update content for the weekly Summer Program Newsletter

    • Compile offer decision packets

    • Social event planning and organization

    • Oversee/track assignment evaluations

    • Attend and assist at various on-site and off-site events and training sessions

  • Assist with the On-Campus Recruiting (July – October) by doing the following:

    • Assist with OCI registrations

    • Prepare OCI interviewer binders, including school-specific data and interview schedules

    • Compile and ship OCI giveaways to all law schools

    • Prepare hospitality suite materials (interviewer bio books, marketing materials, food orders)

    • Answer calls, schedule callback interviews, update Outlook recruiting calendar and take callback candidate information

    • Prepare all callback materials and interview folders and add callback materials and interview schedules to the firm recruiting database

    • Maintain firm intranet with information on offer statuses

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 2-3 years of experience in recruitment required

  • Prior law firm or professional services industry experience preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized

  • Must be self-directed with ability to function well as part of a team

  • Must be diplomatic and serve as a firm ambassador to both students and attorneys

  • Proficiency with various software programs such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook – working knowledge of Symplicity preferred

  • Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills

  • Superior communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the firm

  • Results oriented, dependable, and able to multi-task and manage varied projects with shifting deadlines

  • Strong customer service attributes and the ability to deliver results

  • The ability to work both work independently and to follow direction, with the insight to seek clarification when needed
