Job Descriptions & Performance Evaluations: Continue to Spawn Employment Claims - 6/6/19
FIRST THURSDAYS SEMINAR SERIES - Now in our 15th Year!
Thursday, June 6, 2019
Speakers/Hosts:
Darlene Mack, MA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR; CEO, HR Partners Int'l, Inc
Jeff Shoskin, Partner, Frost Brown Todd; Labor and Employment Law Attorney
SHRM PDCs: 2.0
HRCI Credit: 2.0 General
Jeff Shoskin, a Partner with Frost Brown Todd, will review why these two documents continue to cause headaches for employers. He will explore why the cost savings involved with using “off-the-shelf” documents (from the internet or your HR colleague), without any further thought given to them, may not pay dividends in litigation.
Jeff also will highlight why the content of those forms (e.g., the description of the job duties or the supervisor’s performance ratings and comments) can trigger claims under various employment laws: FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and the FLSA.
Make no mistake. Plaintiff attorneys find more useful information in these two documents than they do in your Handbooks. When was the last time you took a good hard look at your forms?
