A Resource for Free Training to Upskill your Workforce

In partnership, The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO) and MAX Technical Training (MAX) have been awarded a grant from the State of Ohio; Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP).  IMAP was created to provide opportunities for Ohioans who are Unemployed, Partially Unemployed, or low income to participate in a training program and receive a Microcredential.

We can efficiently guide the basic computer user into advanced technical programs that lead to a microcredential. Our programs are designed for the fastest growing and most sought-after technologies. They are also built to fit different types of pre-existing skill sets. Here are the current approved IMAP funded training programs:
1.    Skilled Technical Workforce: focused on the Microsoft Suite
2.    Data Analyst:  focused on teaching the basic concepts of data analytics such as presenting and making changes to data sets.
3.    Web Design Fundamentals:  an introduction to web design.

For the health and safety of all participants, all training programs will be held virtually.  We will offer a limited number of computers for lending through the Urban League’s Technology Lending Library.

Based on the opportunities listed above, we believe we have a responsibility to use our partnerships and resources to help uplift anyone that can benefit from the funding for the training mission. For years, programs such as WIOA, Ohio Means Jobs, and The Forever GI Bill, have been available to pay for workforce development.  The added challenges our communities are facing due to COVID-19 have further increased the need for the funding of professional development and additional investments are being made.

For organizations interested in the professional development of our local workforce, they can help share our mission. Anyone who needs to transition to a new career, uncover new opportunities, or someone looking to change their life.  The approved programs are open for enrollment and are free. There are limited spots available.
