Session Description:

Cyber-crime will cost businesses more than $2 trillion by 2019. Additionally, a recent study said 59% of employees take proprietary information when they quit or are involuntarily terminated. Mr. Greenwood's presentation will focus on cyber security today and what companies AND EMPLOYEES should be doing to protect their information. Examples of various techniques criminals use to steal company information will be discussed. He will also be sharing some examples what a typical company runs into when managing their company information. Recommended actions and steps companies might wish to consider will be discussed as well. This is not a technical briefing but one aimed at business and HR managers as well as administrators.

Session Bio:

Travis Greenwood is President & Chief Executive Officer of The Greentree Group. Greentree is a leader in comprehensive solutions for public and private clients.

Mr. Greenwood earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Wright State University in 1984 and his Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University in 1991. He has 34 years of experience working with government as well as public and private corporations including business management and operations and process-reengineering efforts.

As an owner and Greentree’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Greenwood ensures the company’s goals are met without sacrificing its values and ethics. He also develops strategies designed to improve Greentree’s image and relations with its clients, employees and the public. Mr Greenwood says, “The most important thing I do is motivate our people to do great things for our clients. Good communication skills are an absolute must in todays’ business world. They are first and foremost. Without them, you will fail.

His service on numerous boards includes: the Wright State University Foundation Board of Trustees where he serves as Vice Chair; For the Love of Children Board of Trustees, Dayton Better Business Bureau’s Board of Directors & Executive Committee, and the Institute for Defense & Education Studies Board of Advisors. Mr. Greenwood served on the Board of Trustees for Public Media Connect, a regional, nonprofit public broadcasting corporation with subsidiaries such as Dayton’s Think TV and Cincinnati’s CET Television. He is also a founding board member of the Clark County Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities Housing Connection in Springfield, Ohio. Mr Greenwood served eight years as an elected council member in the Village of Enon, Ohio and also served it as President.

As a way of “giving back” to his alma mater, he donates his time as an adjunct instructor teaching a class that helps WSU seniors transition from college lives to professional careers.

Mr. Greenwood has been married to his wife Lisa for 32 years. He and his wife reside in Dayton.
