Assessing Departments and/or Locations

We're looking for ways to assess and measure both internal corporate departments and our field locations. We have tons of data on performance and output, but I was wondering if you had examples of measuring the human factor.

We aren't looking for employee satisfaction surveys or performance management systems. This is more of an ask around factors, characteristics, etc.
