Drug Free Workplace Policy
We are looking to update our rather old policy. We are a pharmaceutical company and have a formal policy that includes testing for: new hire, random, post accident, return to work after 30 days,

How do you handle medical marajuana?
I worked in HigherEd for up until 2021 (~18 years). The institutions generally tested for any new hires working in police/security, medical or with machinery (incl. company vehicles). However, all usually had to sign a policy acknowledging there may be random testing and post accident. I am not aware of any changes due to COVID. If my memory serves me correctly, we referenced the federal Controlled Substance Act for the continued prohibition of possession and use on site.
